Hello, g'day I have a HP Envy m6 Sleekbook and just today I have realized after plugging in the ac adapter that tge screen woul go completly black.
If you've got a black screen on boot, various things can cause the problem on Windows 10.
There are 8 solutions to help you fix the PC turns on but the screen remains black issue. When I plug it back in the screen comes on. If I unplug my charger, the screen returns to normal. Then click the “Change advanced power settings” link. It also turns black sometimes after exiting the game. Turn Fn or function key lock on or off on newer HP.Laptop screen goes black when unplugged windows 10 When the screen goes black try and press the fn f4 key If this does not work 3. Enabled will change the brightness or change volume, disabled will allow using F1-F12Ħ. Press F5 or F6 to toggle between Enabled/Disabled. Press the down key to get to Action Keysĥ. Once the BIOS settings load, go to System Configuration using the arrow keysĤ. Press F10 as soon as you see the HP or Compaq splash screen. You can find the official HP document here. Disabling Action Keys allows you to use F1-F12 by default, and enabling it lets you adjust the brightness, change the volume, etc without needing to hold Fn. HP calls them Action Keys, and it's a BIOS setting. I did some searching trying to find a way to lock the function keys and luckily I was able to find one. By default the special actions on each key was used instead. I found that out of the box, you had to hold down Fn in order to do that. However, it would require using the F1-F12 keys a lot. I purchased a stack of Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX laptops the other day because they were super cheap and fit their purpose almost perfectly.
